Last Decade we witnessed a re-incarnated team India who has done wonders outside subcontinental conditions, starting from the 2003 Tour of Australia, where we retained our BG Trophy against Australia. I still remember the final day of fourth test match where we spoiled the send off party of the legendary Steve Waugh with charismatic batting display of Sachin, VVS and "The Wall". The world press took some time to digest the fact that this new team India is actually erasing their predecessor's reputation of "not travelling well" outside subcontinent. From that day onwards there was a new Team India who where winning tournaments abroad with scintillating team and individual performance. It was going around pretty well till the current tour of England. Now our world champion team is back to square one, with a pathetic display of cricket. Whenever we bat the pitch looks like a bowling wicket and whenever we bowl, it would behave like a flat deck. Lack of form, injuries, slow over rates, dropped catches etc etc etc: these are the common problems when a team is not performing well. I have never seen such a baseless field placement, Thanks to our so called best skipper ever MSD. On the other hand England team is passing the challenge with flying colours. All the players contributed to the success story and it is delightfull to watch their tail bat. This is a team riding on confidence, but as far as No:1 spot is concerned I feel they have two more litmus test to pass. One is to win a series in subcontinent and Second is to win against South Africa in South Africa. If they can acheive that, which I beleive thay can, there is nothing stopping them to be the next superpower of cricket for the next decade. But they should always remember the lesson they have learned from India, that is not to fall to complacency after getting to the top spot. Good luck England for the next glorious years ahead.
